![]() 2016 has been a year of many blessings and great adventure for me. From completing my yearlong study in the Bahamas as a guinea pig, living an Ayurvedic-Yogic lifestyle, to living for 3 months in Thailand and writing a book about the experience, to spending an extended time in my mother's home, as she recovered from an injury - add to all that, family time with my brother's family, visits with my son's and daughter's families, sharing precious moments with my grown children and granddaughters and recently, welcoming my new grandson to the world - my life has been filled with blessings and the warmth of love. I have also learned many lessons and God willing, will continue to learn, grow and love each and every day. As the new year approaches, I wish for each of you that you will shine your bright lights onto the world and feel the warmth of gratitude for all your blessings. I have exciting news to share! I will be returning to the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas on New Year's Day, for an extended stay. I am shining my light, as this next chapter of my life unfolds. The next time you hear from me, I will be in the Bahamas. Namaste Thank you for taking this journey with me! Loving Life and Living Love, Mary If you haven't signed up for the blog posts, please do. Kindness is a tangible manifestation of love. It is the active outward and inward expression of one's heart. Kindness is how we bring love, compassion, and empathy to life in the world. As Buddha said, "If you could feel all of the suffering of the world, all you could be is kind." Kindness comes in different degrees. It starts with being aware of someone's suffering so that you can do something about it. Initially, we may 'perform' an act of kindness for recognition, but even that initial experience begins to plant the seeds of kindness within us. Through continued expressions of kindness and a deepening ground of empathy, the spark of true selfless service grows. We begin to taste that the more we open ourselves to feel the entire spectrum of human experience - the peace and the pain- we naturally know the right action in each moment. Life becomes an expression of connectivity, even in moments where conflict may be required to return a situation to its natural harmony. It is in this connection where we find both the human and divine expressions of kindness, love made real. Thank you Madhavi Molly for the beautiful post and thank YOU for taking this journey with me!
